One intake a year, in late August, applied for through Sweden's national portal **universityadmissions.se** rather than to the university. For the autumn 2027 intake the first (international) round **opens 16 October 2026 and closes 15 January 2027 at midnight CET**, with the application fee and all supporting documents due **1 February 2027** and master's results published **1 April 2027**. Those dates are University Admissions' own, published on its autumn-semester calendar; Stockholm University's dates page still showed the 2026 cycle when we read it, and states only that the first round runs 'between middle of October and middle of January'. A **second round runs 15 March – 15 April 2027**, but SU warns that many of its international master's programmes are open **only in the first round** regardless of your background, and does not say whether this one is — so plan for January. One more consequence of the national system worth planning around: your **ranking** of up to four choices does not affect Swedish Institute eligibility, but it does affect university scholarships, and Stockholm University gives **priority** for its own scholarship to applicants who rank SU first. Frequently asked questions
How much does the Stockholm University MSc in Management, Organization and Society cost?
Nothing in tuition if you are a citizen of the EU, EEA or Switzerland — Stockholm University is a public Swedish university and the national rule applies. If you are fee-liable, there are two figures. The application fee is SEK 900, paid once per semester to University Admissions and covering every programme choice you submit rather than being charged per choice. Tuition is the part where we have to be careful: the programme's own catalogue page publishes no price at all, only a link to the central fees page — even though that central page says the price for each programme is available on its catalogue page. What the university does publish is a band: SEK 90,000 per academic year for studies within the Humanities/Social Sciences/Law, against SEK 140,000 for the Sciences, with some programmes priced in between. This is a Social Sciences Faculty programme, which puts the two-year cost at SEK 180,000, but treat that as the band rather than a quoted programme price and confirm it in your admission letter. Stockholm University tells students to budget at least SEK 11,214 a month for living costs on top.
Can I get a scholarship for this programme?
There are two realistic routes and they work differently. Stockholm University runs its own Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme, which 'covers the whole tuition fee for a Master's programme', is open to fee-liable citizens from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland who are admitted in the first (international) admission round, and gives priority to applicants who rank Stockholm University as their first choice at universityadmissions.se. Eligible applicants are emailed an application form when the selection results are published, and results come by the end of April. Separately, this programme is on the Swedish Institute's eligible list for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals for 2026/2027, as 'Management, organisation & society', course code SU-31065 — which matters because SI awards against a published programme list rather than by subject, and several management master's at other Swedish universities are absent from that list. The SI award covers full tuition plus SEK 12,000 a month and a SEK 15,000 travel grant, but only for citizens of 34 listed countries with demonstrated work and leadership experience.
