A second round runs 15 March – 15 April 2027, but SU warns that many of its international master's programmes are open only in the first round regardless of your background, and does not say whether this one is — so plan for January. One more consequence of the national system worth planning around: your ranking of up to four choices does not affect Swedish Institute eligibility, but it does affect university scholarships, and Stockholm University gives priority for its own scholarship to applicants who rank SU first. The 15 January 2027 date is published — by University Admissions Sweden, on its autumn-semester calendar last updated 31 August 2026 — rather than projected by us: that round opens 16 October 2026, closes 15 January 2027 at midnight CET, takes fees and documents by 1 February and publishes master's results on 1 April 2027, which places it as the round for the semester starting August/September 2027. Stockholm University's own dates page still showed the 2026 cycle when we read it on 2 September 2026 and gives only the standing rule that the first round runs 'between middle of October and middle of January'. A second national round runs 15 March – 15 April 2027, but SU warns that 'many of our international master's programmes are only open during the first admissions round regardless of an applicant's background' and does not say whether this one is — treat the January round as the real deadline and confirm second-round availability before relying on it.
