London Business School MBA GMAT Score & Requirements

MBA · London, UK

Verified against official sources · last checked September 2026 · see sources

A GMAT or GRE is required for the LBS MBA, and unlike most of this catalogue LBS says out loud roughly where the bar sits: the class average is around 645, the typical range 555 to 805, and "the minimum score we will accept is usually around 555". On the GRE it looks for over 160 in both verbal and quantitative. Scores must be less than five years old. An English test is required unless English is your first language and you have always been a citizen of and primarily resident in a majority English-speaking country — LBS accepts IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge CPE or CAE, PTE Academic and the Duolingo English Test, and publishes no minimum score for any of them. The requirement that shapes the room more than the test is experience: 5.5 years on average, and while there is no hard floor, LBS states that under three years needs "superior academic credentials".

Admitted students at London Business School typically score in the Required · ~645 class average, 555–805 typical range · ~555 usual floor GMAT range. The class average is around 645.

Most European MiM programs, including this one, accept the GRE and often the GMAT Focus Edition or a school-specific test as alternatives, and weigh the whole application — academics, internships, essays, and interview — rather than the score alone.
