This is the headline fact about LMU's MMT, and the one that separates it from the management master across town. LMU charges no tuition fees at all — its own fees page states that none have been levied since the winter semester 2013/14, and that applies to every nationality, not only to EU/EEA students. The only mandatory cost is the Studierendenwerk contribution, which LMU publishes at €97.00 per semester for the summer semester 2026, up from €85.00 in 2024/25. Across the four-semester degree that is roughly €388 in total fees. Two caveats worth budgeting for. First, the contribution no longer buys a transit pass: LMU discontinued the semester-ticket surcharge from the winter semester 2023/24, so the LMUcard is not a valid MVV ticket and Munich travel is a separate cost — unlike the German public universities whose social contribution bundles a nationwide pass. Second, the MMT programme's own at-a-glance page still quotes an older annual figure of about €170, which corresponds to the superseded €85 rate; LMU's central fees page is the current one. The real budget line is Munich itself, which is among Germany's most expensive cities to live in.
