Uppsala is a public Swedish university, so the rule that governs every public university in Sweden applies here: no tuition at all for citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland, for permanent Swedish residence-permit holders, and for their qualifying family members. For those applicants the two-year degree is free, and the budget line is living costs in Uppsala rather than tuition. Everyone else pays SEK 228,000 for the programme — SEK 57,000 per semester across the four semesters, with the first instalment due before you enrol — plus a one-off SEK 900 application fee paid to University Admissions, which is non-refundable and covers every programme choice you submit that semester rather than being charged per choice. All four specialisations carry the identical figure, so the price is not a reason to pick one over another. Set against the other Swedish programmes on this site, that puts Uppsala second on total cost for a non-EU student — below Stockholm School of Economics (SEK 360,000) and above the University of Gothenburg (SEK 192,000) and Lund's one-year master (SEK 160,000) — but read those totals by length, because per year of study Uppsala's SEK 114,000 is cheaper than both SSE and Lund. How much does Uppsala University's Master's Programme in Business and Management cost?
It depends entirely on your citizenship. What are the four Uppsala Business and Management specialisations, and do you apply to them separately?
The programme runs as four separately-applied specialisations — International Business, Marketing, Organisation and Entrepreneurship. Each has its own page in Uppsala's catalogue and its own entry in the national application system, and all four share the identical 120-credit structure, tuition, entry requirements and selection method. The first year is common to all master's students in strategy, business theories and scientific method, with the specialisation's own courses layered on; the third semester offers an internship, electives or an international exchange, and the fourth is a 30-credit thesis. Because Sweden's national application charges one SEK 900 fee per semester regardless of how many choices you submit, you can rank more than one specialisation on the same application at no extra cost in fees — a sensible hedge given that places are allocated by a ranked ladder rather than a fit assessment. One caveat before you order the list: Uppsala's own scholarships require an Uppsala programme to sit in your first-priority slot, so ranking another university above Uppsala takes you out of Uppsala's award even though it costs you nothing in fees. Two of this programme's four specialisations are also absent from the Swedish Institute's eligible-programmes list, so for a fee-paying applicant the specialisation order is a funding decision too.
When is the application deadline for Uppsala's Business and Management master?
Uppsala admits once a year, to a single late-August intake, and you apply through Sweden's national service universityadmissions.se rather than to the university directly. The round opens in mid-October and the first-round deadline is 15 January for the following autumn start — the 2026 intake closed on 15 January 2026 and started on 31 August 2026. International and other fee-paying applicants should treat that January round as their real deadline, because later rounds mainly release places that remain open. Supporting documents and the SEK 900 fee go to University Admissions on its own timetable, which runs a few weeks past the application deadline. Because it is a recurring national cycle the dates repeat each year, but confirm the exact current-cycle timetable on universityadmissions.se before you plan.
Is Uppsala University ranked for its Master in Management?
Not on the programme-level tables we sort our shortlists by. We could not find this programme in the Financial Times Masters in Management ranking or the QS Business Masters management table — the FT's 2025 edition lists two Swedish schools, Stockholm School of Economics and Jönköping International Business School, and Uppsala is not among them. So we set no programme rank for it and keep it off our rank-sorted lists, the same treatment we give any programme whose rank we cannot verify. Uppsala also publishes no class size, admitted-student profile, employment rate or salary figure for this master, and we do not quote numbers we cannot source. What is verifiable is institutional: Uppsala was founded in 1477 and teaches over 50,000 students. That is a statement about the university, not a measure of this programme's graduate outcomes, and we do not present it as one.
