Goethe runs a single autumn (winter-semester) intake for the M.Sc. Management Science, with the application window opening around 15 January and closing around 15 May each year. There is no separate EU / non-EU deadline, but applicants from China, Vietnam and India must additionally hold an APS certificate, which takes time to obtain, so those candidates should start well before the May cut-off. What we checked, and when. Recurring annual window, confirmed verbatim on Goethe's own application page on 1 Sep 2026: "You can apply for the master's program from January 15 until May 15 (application for the first semester)." The dates are exact rather than approximate — earlier wording here hedged them with a tilde — but Goethe publishes them as a standing annual rule with no cycle year, so the marker stays indicative. How much does the Goethe University Frankfurt M.Sc. Management Science cost?
There is no tuition fee — Goethe is a public university and the M.Sc. Management Science charges nothing for either EU or non-EU master's students. The only mandatory cost is the per-semester student contribution (Semesterbeitrag), set at €408.28 for winter semester 2026/27; across the four-semester degree that is on the order of €1,630 in total. Most of it is transport, not fees: €226.80 of each semester's contribution is the Deutschland-Semesterticket, a nationwide public-transport pass, with €106.50 for the Studierendenwerk and €50.00 for the legally fixed administrative contribution. The application is free as well. That makes Goethe one of the lowest-cost routes to a notable European management master — the real budget item is living in Frankfurt rather than tuition. The faculty's programme FAQ still shows an older ~€334 figure; the university's central re-registration page is authoritative and the contribution is revised every semester, so confirm the current figure there.
Do you need the GMAT for the Goethe M.Sc. Management Science?
No, and Goethe publishes exactly how much it is worth: the GMAT/GRE verbal and quantitative sections carry 3% each of the admission score, against 51% for your average bachelor's grade, 39% for ECTS earned in quantitative-methods modules and 4% for international experience. Each section is scored on percentile — 10 points at the 91st and above, zero below the 50th — so a test is a 6% nudge, not a lever, and the school publishes no admitted-student average. What you do need is a bachelor's in economics or business administration (or a related degree with at least 90 ECTS of economics/management/business content) and proof of English: TOEFL iBT 95, IELTS 7.0, Cambridge C1 or UNIcert level 3, each under five years old. The criterion worth checking your transcript against is the quantitative one: Goethe counts modules that teach quantitative methods — maths, statistics, econometrics, operations research, data science — and explicitly excludes micro and macroeconomics, finance, accounting, marketing and operations management, which only apply them.
