Curriculum & Structure

The degree totals 180 credits over 12 months, built from up to nine taught modules.¹ The core covers the management foundations — International Strategic Management, Managing People and Organisations, Business Finance, and Strategic Marketing — alongside further taught modules, before a single capstone chosen from three routes: an international study trip working on real management projects, a work placement (up to three months over the summer, secured independently by the student), or an applied management project.¹ That choice lets students lean the year toward international exposure, hands-on experience, or an analytical deep-dive depending on their goals — a flexible finish typical of a strong UK one-year management master’s.

Application & Deadlines

Entry is a good second-class undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) in any discipline, plus IELTS 6.5 (with no component below 5.5).¹ The programme targets recent graduates with up to about two years of experience; work experience is not required, and the GMAT is not required.¹

On the English requirement, Henley is unusually generous — and this profile previously understated it. Two things are worth knowing before you book a test. First, Henley does not publish a “non-native speakers must test” rule at all; its course page frames the requirement as discretionary — *“Studying in a second language can be challenging. If your English language ability is below the minimum requirement, we may ask for evidence of proficiency.”*¹ Second, and more usefully, the University of Reading’s admissions policy — which governs Henley — accepts a long list of school-leaving English qualifications in place of IELTS at the 6.5 (no element below 5.5) band, and that list reaches the countries most UK schools exclude: Indian Standard XII English at 70% (CBSE/ICSE/All India/HSSC boards) or 75% (state boards), Nigeria’s NECO Senior School Certificate at Grade C, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education at Grade C, plus Botswana’s BGCSE, the Malawi School Certificate, the Mauritian School Certificate, Tanzania’s NECO/CSE, the Zambia School Certificate, Malaysia’s SPM and IGCSE English (first language Grade C, second language Grade B).³ Where a school like Lancaster will not accept even a fully English-taught Indian degree, Henley may accept an Indian applicant’s Class 12 English mark. Tuition for September 2026 entry is £15,350 for UK/home students and £29,150 for international students (including EU).¹ As a one-year master’s, that is the full tuition for the degree — broadly in line with, and a little below, the better-known UK one-year management master’s.
