The main round is open to every applicant and every English-taught master's programme; the rolling round is open only to applicants holding a bachelor's with a major in business administration and/or economics obtained outside Finland, and only for four programmes — International Strategy and Sustainability, Marketing, Marketing and Management (Vaasa) and Supply Chain Management. Hanken states the rolling round carries higher admission requirements than the main round in exchange for a quicker decision. The latest published cycle is the 2026 intake: the main round ran 7–21 January 2026 and the rolling round 8 December 2025 – 15 April 2026, with the International Strategy and Sustainability quota recorded as filled for that round. Dates for the 2027/28 intake are not yet published.

Do you need the GMAT or GRE for the Hanken MSc?
It depends on your admission group and the round. Group 1 — Finland, the EU/EEA, Switzerland or a Hanken partner university — can use a grade route instead: a GPA of at least a B on a US scale (3.0 on the Finnish 5.0 scale) in the main round, or a B+ (4.0 Finnish) in the rolling round. Group 2, from outside the EU/EEA, must submit a test: GMAT Focus 515, previous-format GMAT 550 or GRE quantitative 150 in the main round, rising to 555, 600 and 158 in the rolling round. Hanken also requires at least 25 ECTS in subjects relevant to the programme (30 for Economics) in the main round, and states that meeting the minimum does not by itself lead to admission.
