Frequently asked questions

Which Copenhagen Business School degree is the "Master in Management"?
CBS does not market a programme literally called "MSc in Management". The closest equivalent — and the degree most applicants searching for a CBS MiM are looking at — is the MSc in Economics and Business Administration, the Danish cand.merc., a two-year general-management master's offered across a dozen concentrations (General Management and Analytics, Strategy, Finance and Strategic Management, Management of Innovation and Business Development, and others). It is the entry point you apply to from abroad. CBS's CEMS Master in International Management is a selective one-year track studied on top of an eligible cand.merc — not a separate degree you apply to directly.
When are the CBS application deadlines?
CBS splits applicants into two groups. Group 2 — non-EU/EEA citizens who need a Danish student residence permit — must apply by 15 January, with the portal opening in mid-December. Group 1 — EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and others who do not need a residence permit — apply by 1 March, with the portal opening in mid-January. Both are for the late-August intake; there are no rolling rounds, so a missed deadline means waiting a full year. Always confirm the exact current-cycle dates on CBS's admission page.
How does the CEMS Master in International Management work at CBS?
CEMS is a one-year, globally-networked track you study alongside an eligible CBS cand.merc, not a standalone degree. You apply during your first semester at CBS; applications are scored on academic performance (80%), study abroad (10%) and work/volunteering abroad (10%), and the top 70 applicants are invited to an English assessment interview. CBS admits roughly 50 CEMS students a year. You need a bachelor GPA of at least 7.0 on the Danish scale and proficiency in three languages (English at minimum C1). CEMS adds a mandatory exchange semester at one of 33 partner schools, an international business project for a corporate client, an eight-week internship abroad, and joint CEMS certification with access to a 20,000-strong alumni network.
